A spoonful of diamonds

Imagine a beautiful spring morning. You are walking down the path by the lake, breathing in the fresh air. On your left, magnificent chestnuts bloom. They are gently swaying overhead with their flowers illuminated like candles in honour of the celebration of Life!

As you walk, snow-white swans glide slowly and majestically upon the glittering, silken surface of the lake. A group of colourful ducks bask in the warm sunlight by the shore.

A light and sweet breeze brings to you a scent, so intense and pleasant that it even makes you feel a little dizzy… That is a lilac bush! … 🙂 And you smile, for even when hidden away behind the big chestnuts, nevertheless your favourite fragrance is not to be confused with anything!

As you continue the walk along the lakeshore, you admire the play of the sunlight upon the water… And your thoughts again return back to the amazing photo you saw in the photostream on Flickr: a silvery spoon, photographed in such a masterful way that it seems as if filled with diamonds! The description… what did it say now? Ah, yes! “Fake jewels” …

You stop. Suddenly you understand something very significant. Looking at the water, you realise that even the most expensive and exquisite jewellery is, in fact, mere reflections…

The tender caress of the sunbeams and the sweet fragrance of the lilac, the vigorous splendour of spring and the unstoppable joy of life that make your eyes sparkle with admiration and your heart tremble with delight – those are the real jewels!

Real jewels, which cannot be bought or stolen, cannot be taken away or destroyed. They can only be given. 🙂
And when you accept them, they become a part of you, filling your whole being with the Light of Love and Beauty and Meaning! :)))

  1. Excellent and as Shrek says has many layers like him. Last night as I walked my little dog I was surprised to smell such a lovely fragrance coming off a tree in blossom. Surprised as I have a weak sniffer. That’s when I realized the wind was coming the exact angle downward to me from the tree. For me that simple thing was priceless…like a diamond might be priceless to one while just a shiny stone to another thrown away!

    1. Dear Ronny, it is so poetical! I have read it several times – shining like a diamond 🙂 🙂
Very often people don’t really realize how rich they are – how many diamonds they have. They are blessed with such beauty surrounding them, with the possibility of real friendship, with love and care… but because those things are there, they stop value them… As they say: familiarity breeds contempt. Sigh.
My friend, I wish you a week filled with the *wonder* of beauty – and beautiful wonder!! 🙂 🙂 🙂
